Body armor traps heat, moisture, and humid air against the torso, especially during summer patrol shifts, extended scenes, traffic control, training, and other high-activity assignments. VestFlow™ creates continuous airflow underneath your ballistic vest to help remove trapped air, increase sweat evaporation, and make long hours in armor more manageable.

Built for Internal and External Ballistic Vests

VestFlow™ is designed to work with both common body armor configurations.

External Vest Carriers

Position the airflow outlet behind the upper edge of the carrier to direct air downward between the vest and your uniform shirt. The circulating air moves through the confined space behind the carrier, helping push out trapped heat, humidity, and moisture.

Internal or Concealed Ballistic Vests

Position the outlet beneath the uniform shirt and behind the upper edge of the concealed vest. This directs airflow into the area between the body, undershirt, and armor, where heat and perspiration commonly accumulate.

Its portable design allows officers to move between vehicles, foot patrol, calls for service, special events, training, and extended outdoor assignments without relying on a patrol vehicle’s air conditioning vent.

Five Adjustable Airflow Modes

Every assignment is different. VestFlow™ gives the user five selectable airflow levels so cooling, noise, and battery life can be adjusted for the situation.

Level 1 provides a light, nearly inaudible airflow that is ideal for quiet environments, report writing, surveillance, courtroom assignments, or extended use.

Each higher setting progressively increases airflow, with Level 5 delivering strong air movement for high heat, physical activity, outdoor assignments, and situations where maximum circulation is needed.

Radio-Friendly, Consistent Fan Tone

VestFlow™ uses a brushless centrifugal fan, commonly known as a squirrel cage fan, to produce focused airflow through the confined space beneath body armor.

Unlike fans that create pulsing, rattling, or constantly changing noise, VestFlow™ produces a steady and consistent operating tone, even on Level 5. This non-fluctuating sound profile allows the noise filtering and processing found in many common law enforcement and first responder microphones to more easily identify and reduce the background tone.

This helps officers communicate over portable radios, shoulder microphones, and other common public safety communication equipment without the fan repeatedly surging into the transmission.

Microphone performance may vary by radio system, microphone placement, noise reduction technology, fan position, and surrounding conditions. Users should test VestFlow™ with their specific communications equipment before operational use.

How VestFlow™ Supports the Body’s Natural Cooling Process

The body primarily cools itself by producing sweat. However, sweat only provides meaningful cooling when it is able to evaporate from the skin.

Under a ballistic vest, moisture can become trapped between the wearer, uniform, and armor. The enclosed space quickly becomes warm and humid, which limits evaporation. When sweat remains trapped against the body instead of evaporating, it provides less cooling and can leave the wearer feeling soaked, overheated, and uncomfortable.

VestFlow™ helps address this problem by continuously moving air through the space beneath the vest.

This airflow helps:

  • Displace warm, humid air trapped beneath the armor
  • Introduce moving air across damp clothing and skin
  • Increase the rate at which sweat can evaporate
  • Reduce moisture accumulation beneath the vest
  • Prevent stagnant pockets of hot air from remaining against the torso

Even when outdoor temperatures are high, moving air can still improve comfort by helping moisture evaporate and by replacing the humid air trapped beneath the vest. The effectiveness of evaporative cooling will vary based on temperature, humidity, clothing, activity level, and individual conditions, but airflow can remain beneficial even when the surrounding air is not cold.

VestFlow™ does not simply blow cold air. It helps the body make better use of its natural evaporative cooling process.

More Than Comfort

Working in body armor places an additional heat burden on the body. Hot weather, direct sunlight, physical exertion, limited airflow, and long periods in uniform can increase the risk of heat-related illness.

VestFlow™ helps improve air circulation beneath the vest, supporting a more manageable working environment during demanding conditions. It should be used as one part of a complete heat-safety plan that includes proper hydration, rest periods, shade, appropriate supervision, and recognition of heat-illness symptoms.

VestFlow™ is not medical equipment and does not prevent heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Officers experiencing confusion, dizziness, weakness, nausea, headache, fainting, or other signs of heat illness should stop activity and follow agency emergency procedures.

VestFlow™ is powered by an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery, eliminating the need for disposable batteries or a permanent connection to the patrol vehicle.

The convenient USB-C charging port makes it easy to recharge using compatible vehicle adapters, portable power banks, or wall chargers.

Using a compatible high-powered USB-C power supply, VestFlow™ recharges in approximately 2.5 hours.
